As an immensely powerful character in Genshin Impact, the only major weakness Xingqiu has is the fact that there’s only one of him. Fortunately, this downside no longer exists as Yelan is now available. Whether players choose to play both characters in a team or separately, Yelan is definitely welcomed for both her Xingqiu-like Hydro application and large DPS.

Other than the obvious pairing with Hu Tao, Yelan team in Genshin Impact also revolves around the new Dendro reaction; Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon.

Yelan + Hu Tao + Zhongli + Xingqiu/Albedo

One of the most popular Hu Tao comps is Xingqiu + Zhongli + Albedo, but this Yelan team comp will replace either Xingqiu or Albedo with Yelan.

Yelan + Bennett + Xiangling + Raiden Shogun

The Rational team usually consists of Raiden + Xingqiu + Bennett + Xiangling, but Yelan can definitely replace Xingqiu.

Yelan + Nilou + Nahida + Yaoyao

There are three types of Bloom reaction in Genshin Impact, and Hydro is one of the most important aspects to trigger it. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Yelan works in all types of Bloom teams.

The first one is a normal Bloom with only Dendro and Hydro. For this Yelan team, players will enjoy the Bountiful Cores given by Nilou. Note that Yaoyao and Nahida are quite squishy and Bountiful Cores deal quite a large damage, so it’s best if Yaoyao is on a healer build. Of course, if players are feeling adventurous, she can use Elemental Mastery artifacts like 4-Gilded Dreams or Flower of 4-Paradise Lost.

Rotation

  1. Nilou E E E
  2. Nahida Q & E
  3. Yaoyao Q, E, then run around
  4. Yelan E & Q
  5. Attack with Nahida

Builds

  • Yelan: 4-Emblem of Severed Fate
  • Nilou: 2-Tenacity of the Millelith + 2-EM +80
  • Nahida: 4-Deepwood Memories
  • Yaoyao: 4-Maiden Beloved or 2-Maiden Beloved + 2-Ocean-Hued Clam

Roles

  • Yelan: Sub-DPS, buffer
  • Nilou: Bloom support
  • Nahida: Sub-DPS, buffer, debuffer
  • Yaoyao: Bloom trigger, healer

Yelan + Nahida + Kokomi + Raiden Shogun

The second Bloom team is Hyperbloom, where an Electro character would be the trigger. For this, the best option is either Kuki Shinobu or Raiden Shogun. The Dendro unit can be Dendro Traveler, Nahida, Collei, or Yaoyao, while the second Hydro can either be Xingqiu, Kokomi, or Ayato.

Yelan + Dendro Traveler + Kokomi + Thoma

The final version of Bloom is Burgeon, which occurs when Pyro touches Dendro Cores. For this Yelan team, players need a Pyro character that won’t mess up the Element on enemies, so it’s either Thoma’s Burst or proper control of Yanfei. Like the Hyperbloom comp, players can change the Dendro and second Hydro characters.

Rotation

  1. Kokomi E
  2. Dendro MC E & Q
  3. Yelan E & Q (MUST touch Dendro MC’s Burst)

Yelan + Ayaka + Kokomi + Kazuha/Venti

Other than Vaporize and Bloom, Yelan is also viable in a Permafreeze team with Ayaka. For this, players can either use Kazuha to amplify Ayaka’s damage, or Venti to crowd control the enemy.

Rotation

  1. Ayaka E
  2. Venti or Kazuha Q & E

In love with RPGs like Souls and Elder Scrolls games. I also enjoy RTS like Age of Empires and the ancient Command and Conquer games. Despite all that, I still enjoy light games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. In conclusion, I like to give every single game a fair chance as long as it looks like it was made with passion.
