Pyro is one of the strongest Elements in Genshin Impact, but it suffers from the lack of reliable off-field sub-DPS. Plenty of strong main DPS exist like Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Klee, and Diluc, but off-field Pyro enabler is rather scarce. Fortunately, despite the lack of characters, players can easily have one of the best Pyro sub-DPS, Xiangling.

Despite being immensely powerful, though, Xiangling also comes with some flaws of her own. Therefore, it’s essential that players understand the proper Xiangling build in Genshin Impact.

Xiangling Build – Best Weapon

It’s a running meme that Xiangling can use all Polearms, and that’s actually true. But, in order to find Xiangling her best Polearm in Genshin Impact, players must find the weapon that can maximize the overall DMG of her Burst, Pyronado.

1. Engulfing Lightning: Since all of Xiangling’s DMG comes from her Elemental Burst while being an Energy-demanding one, it’s only natural that building Xiangling with Engufling and Emblem is viable. Engulfing Lightning ensures Xiangling can frequently cast her Burst while dealing some massive DMG with it. However, Engulfing’s performance drops if Xiangling doesn’t need the ER% anymore (for instance, in Raiden Shogun’s team).
2. Staff of the Scarlet Sands: While the weapon lacks Base ATK, it makes it up with the other aspects of its stats that significantly improve Xiangling’s performance. Still, Xiangling should be paired with Bennett to make up for the lost Base ATK.
3. Staff of Homa: Without any complications, Staff of Homa is simple and effective. With Staff of Homa, Xiangling is undoubtedly going to have a high DPS value. However, she will suffer from Energy regeneration so it’s better to solve that issue by adding a battery like Bennett, or more ER% in artifacts.
4. The Catch: A smaller version of Engulfing Lightning. The Catch grants Xiangling the ER% she needs with an additional DMG on her Burst. But since it enjoys Engulfing Lightning’s privilege, it also suffers from its lackings.
5. Primordial Jade Winged-Spear: A good stat Polearm for Xiangling in Genshin Impact, offering high Base ATK and decent Crit Rate. Other than that, there’s not much to get from the weapon’s passive.
6. Skyward Spine: Xiangling is one of the most ER-demanding characters in Genshin Impact. It’s definitely a plus for Skyward to have the stat. However, it can’t compare to R5 The Catch, which is a F2P weapon.
7. Calamity Queller: It’s not simple for Xiangling to fully activate Calamity Queller. Yet, when the passive is activated, Calamity Queller grants a lot of Base ATK and extra ATK% while Xiangling is off-field.
8. Deathmatch: Since Xiangling’s Elemental Burst snapshot, she can benefit from Deathmatch’s passive, although it’s not a crazy buff. Other than that, the weapon is balanced by being neither strong nor weak in her hands.
9. Vortex Vanquisher: Unfortunately for Xiangling, she can’t be on-field to fully benefit from Vortrex’s crazy buff. However, the base stats the weapon gives are enough to rank it among the top 10 best weapons for Xiangling in Genshin Impact.
10. Wavebreaker’s Fin: A great Polearm, but demanding in passive. In order for Xiangling to fully benefit from Wavebreaker’s effect, players have to balance her Energy Recharge (ER) so she can be able to cast her Burst more often. Additionally, the team should all have Bursts that need 60 to 80 Energy to be cast. That will ensure Xiangling’s Pyronado hits hard when she unleashes it.
11. Dragon’s Bane: Elemental Mastery is not a bad stat to have on Xiangling since her off-field DMG is usually taken advantage of by including her in Melt, Vaporize, or even Burgeon team comps.
12. Missive Windspear: Same as Dragon’s Bane, but more all over the place. Missive Windspear is an ok weapon for most of what players want to do with Xiangling.
13. Kitain Cross Spear: While the F2P weapon is able to regenerate her Burst in no time, Xiangling suffers a major drop in DPS when holding Kitain Cross Spear.
14. Lithic Spear: grants Xiangling a huge ATK% and Crit Rate buff, especially on R5. However, players have to run Xiangling with three Liyue characters in order for the passive to fully work.
15. Favonius Lance: Not recommended for Xiangling. Only viable in early-game where other weapons are still out of reach. It can deal a little more DMG with Emblem, but still, not worth it.
16. Prototype Starglitter: Another F2P early-game Polearm for Xiangling in Genshin Impact. Don’t forge it just for Xiangling since a better one will surely come. Just struggle until that better one arrives.

Xiangling Build – Best Artifact

Xiangling is a strong Polearm unit that mostly relies on her Pyronado to burn the entire field. To enhance her Burst DMG in Genshin Impact, players should build Xiangling with artifacts that match her kit.

• 4-Emblem of Severed Fate: Emblem is amazing for Xiangling since it grants her everything she needs, including Energy Recharge and Burst DMG bonus according to her ER.
• 4-Crimson Witch of Flames: Crimson is always a viable option for Pyro units since it buffs the entirety of their Pyro DMG.
• 2-Noblesse Oblige + 2-Crimson Witch of Flames: If both Emblem and Crimson weren’t available, players can opt to use Noblesse and Crimson since they buff Xiangling’s Burst by 35%, which is not bad for a spare set.
• 2-Noblesse Oblige + 2-ATK +18% or 2-Crimson Witch of Flames + 2-ATK +18%: ATK% is always a good investment in any Xiangling build in Genshin Impact. If players don’t have the previous sets, then use Noblesse or Crimson with any of the +18% artifacts.

Xiangling Talent Priority In Genshin Impact

Xiangling talent priority in Genshin Impact is Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill. It’s highly recommended to max the level of Xiangling’s Burst talent as it deals a ton of damage. Normal Attack should only be leveled on Physical DPS Xiangling, but since she performs best as a sub-DPS, players should save their resources and keep the Normal Attack talent at the base level.
