While Chongyun’s kit can be complicated for some, building him should be easy for everyone in Genshin Impact. Chongyun is a Cryo user who relies on his Elemental Burst to deal DMG while his Skill provides Cryo infusion for himself and his team.

To build Chongyun in Genshin Impact, players can only go with ATK, Cryo, and CRIT since he doesn’t bring any buff or debuff that scales with his stats. So giving him the ability to deal the best DMG he can inflict is the best way to go.

Chongyun Build – Best Weapon

  1. Sacrificial Greatsword: One of the best Chongyun weapons in Genshin Impact. The Claymore grants him the ability to Burst more often while keeping his Cryo field available for a longer duration.
  2. Wolf’s Gravestone: Chongyun deals the most DMG with Wolf’s Gravestone in Genshin Impact. Not only does the weapon greatly increase Chongyun’s ATK, but it also grants the team a huge ATK% buff. Now imagine running Chongyun with Wolf and Noblesse.
  3. R5 Akoumaru: This Claymore helps Chongyun deal great DMG with his Elemental Burst. It has a needy requirement, such as making sure Chongyun is with a team that needs a large amount of energy for their Bursts. All in all, it can be a good choice if players don’t have or don’t want to use Sacrificial Greatsword.
  4. R5 Serpent Spine: The Battle Pass Claymore is a great stat weapon for Chongyun. It has a standard Base ATK alongside an almost 30% CRIT Rate. Other than that, Serpent Spine’s passive requirement is too big for Chongyun with minimum return in DMG, so it’s better not to stack it and just use the Claymore for stats.
  5. R5 Lithic Blade: Just like Akoumaru, Lithic Blade requires a specific team for Chongyun to operate perfectly. When building his team, Ice Boy should only be paired with units from Liyue, which is very limiting.
  6. R5 Luxurious Sealord: This Claymore is a decent F2P choice to increase Chongyun’s Burst DMG. However, weapons like Serpent Spine and Akoumaru are a much better choice.

Chongyun Build – Best Artifact

  • 4-Noblesse Oblige: The best role for Chongyun is to operate as a Support/Sub-DPS. For that, running 4pc Noblesse Oblige on him maximizes his potential.
  • 4-Emblem of Severed Fate: On C6, Chongyun wields a decent Elemental Burst, so enhancing that Burst can be a good idea when he’s taking the Sub-DPS role. Emblem won’t only buff his Burst, but it will also grant him the ability to regenerate it faster since having a high ER for that build is necessary.
  • 2-Noblesse Oblige + 2-Blizzard Strayer: Emblem is much much better than building Chongyun with Noblesse and Blizzard. Yet, if players couldn’t find a good set of Emblem, then these two artifacts grant Chongyun an easy 35% extra DMG on his Burst.

Chongyun Talent Priority In Genshin Impact

Chongyun will mostly use his Elemental Burst during combat in Genshin Impact. However, his Elemental Skill can still deal some decent DMG and will also be frequently used if the team’s gameplay revolves around it.

Chongyun Talent Level Recommendation

  • Normal Attack: 2
  • Elemental Skill: 8
  • Elemental Burst: 10

In love with RPGs like Souls and Elder Scrolls games. I also enjoy RTS like Age of Empires and the ancient Command and Conquer games. Despite all that, I still enjoy light games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. In conclusion, I like to give every single game a fair chance as long as it looks like it was made with passion.
