The head of the Kamisato clan, Kamisato Ayato, is a Hydro unit that can fulfill both the main DPS and sub-DPS role. Although his DMG is somewhat mediocre, his AoE makes up for the lacking, which makes him a great character when fighting horde of enemies. Unfortunately, unlike many had hoped, he's not highly compatible with his close companions like Thoma and Ayaka. It appears that Thoma is only destined to taste Ayato's cooking ineptitude, but not his fighting aptitude.

Team Composition Flexibility

Ayato is compatible with many characters. For example, he works greatly with Dendro in a Bloom team, or with Cryo in a Freeze team. Ayato also works great with niche support like Yun Jin and Candace. Additionally, as Hydro can be Swirled, the assistance of units like Kazuha, Venti, and Sucrose is also great for Ayato.

Role Flexibility

Ayato works perfectly as a main DPS, but his Burst is also a reliable source of Hydro application. For example, if people doesn’t have Kokomi to enable Hydro, Ayato can take her place and be a Burst support.
